BRIDGEPORT — Carole “Jeannie” Monroe, 75, of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born in Clarksburg on September 16, 1943, a daughter of the late Floyd Samuel and Genevieve Ruth (Nuzum) Clevenger.
On June 30, 1963, she married William H. “Bill” Monroe, who preceded her in death on December 26, 2015.
Surviving are a daughter, Deena Herron and her husband Jim, Fairmont; two sons, Matt Monroe and his wife Cynthia, Newbern, NC, and Craig Monroe, of Bridgeport; grandsons, Bradley Wyne, Brenton Wyne and his girlfriend Tori Snyder and Noah Herron, all of Fairmont and Zach McKinney of Raleigh, NC; and a brother, Tom Clevenger and his wife Kathy, of Bridgeport.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Floyd Clevenger Jr.
Jeannie worked at Anchor Hocking as a glass inspector, then stayed at home to raise her kids.
Private services were held for the family and interment was in WV National Cemetery.
