Harry S. Holbert
Shinnson: Harry Stanley Holbert, 76, of Highland Avenue, died at 8:30 a. m. Sunday April 28, in Fairmont General Hospital, following a sudden illness.
He was born Aug. 21, 1919, in Oakland, Md., a son of the late Arthur M. and Susie May Wilt Holbert.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Elaine Holbert, whom he married Feb 24, 1951; three sons, Harry A. Holbert, enterprise, Arnold E. Holbert, Shinnston and Arthur S. Holbert, Morgantown; two daughters, Mrs. Linda McCray, Enterprise, and Mrs. Deborah Miller, Sistersville.
Two brothers, Forrest D. Holbert and George L. Holbert, and three infant brothers and an infant sister are also deceased.
Mr Holbert was a retired from Consolidation Coal Company's Williams Mine where he was employed for 33 years. He served as a medical technician with the 393rd Infantry Regiment, U.S. Army, in Europe.

Ruby Holbert, the former Ruby Catherine Helmick, 86, of Enterprise, passed away on Friday,August 6, 2010, at her residence. She was born February 26, 1924, a daughter of the late John J. and Dolly Carr Helmick. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband George Laco Holbert, whom she married March 3, 1945 and who died on January 12, 1992; brothers Dewey and Johnie and beloved daughter Dolly White. Family was everything to Ruby. Her memory will be a blessing. Survivors are daughter Sharon Pressmen and husband Tom of Huntington and son-in-law Ronald White of Clarksburg. Special and enduring pleasure was brought to Ruby by her grandchildren and their families: Granddaughter Tammy Bailey, Husband Rob and their children Taryn, Kallan and Aubrey of Clarksburg; grandson Micah Pressmen, wife Beth and their son Billy of Newport News, Va; granddaughter Bridgette Barker and her children Kaitlyn and Taylor of Stonewood; grandson Todd White, wife Crustal and their children Sierra Kaylee and Dakota of Clarksburg; granddaughter Amanda Cutlip; husband Don and their children Ashley and Brayden of Lumberport; and granddaughter Jessica Pressman and significant other Jay Fox of Huntington All especially enjoyed Ruby;s homemade chicken noodles and hospitality on Sunday afternoons at her home. Ruby loved her surviving sisters and brother Beulah Whitehair of Buckhannon, Alma Amodio of Clarksburg, Harold Helmick and wife Deloris of Enterprise and Wilma Lopez of Falling Water, WV. She reveled in their company and in making memories of family times. Friends in her sewing and quilting circle brought Ruby joy and special friendship.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home Shinnston, on Monday from 4-8PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, at 10AM with the Rev Aulbert Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at the Enterprise IOOF Cemetery.
