Mrs. Laura Belle Stiles, 72, of Waynesburg R. D. 2, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday April 30, 1966, in the Curry Memorial Home.She was born Feb. 8, 1894, in Wayne Township near Brave, to the late Andy and Eliza Whitehill Braden.Mrs. Stiles spent the early part of her life near Brave but for the past several years resided in the Waynesburg area where she was a member of the Washington Street Methodist Church.Surviving are: her husband, Edward Stiles, whom she married Nov. 2, 1916; her step-father, Jake Simpson, of Wana, W, Va., R. D. 1; one daughter, Winifred, wife of Ellsworth Ankrom, of Scottsdale, ariz.; one son, Wilbur, of Scotch Plains, N. J.; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Phillips, of Fairmont, W. Va.; and several nieces and nephews.One infant daughter and three sisters, Mary, Estella and Myrtle, are deceas

Winifred Ankrom, 84 of Carmichaels, died Sunday, August 19, 2018 in the Donnell House, Washington.


She was born November 9, 1933 in Gilmore Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Edward D. and Laura Braden Stiles.


Winifred was a 1952 graduate of Waynesburg High School.


She lived in Carmichaels for over the last 35 years and was a member of the First united Methodist Church of Carmichaels.


On February 21, 1954 she married Ellsworth “Hank” Ankrom, who died April 29, 2005.


Surviving are four children, Linda Ankrom of Carmichaels, Ella Ankrom of Carmichaels, Rita (Mark) Feldman of Jefferson, and Ray Ankrom of Carmichaels; five grandchildren, Amanda (Paul) Crider, Joel (Kim) Ankrom, Dawn Ankrom, Sean Ankrom, and Rachel Ankrom; five great grandchildren, Audrey, Dylon, Colton, Bowen, and Zoe; a brother, Wilbur B. (Elizabeth) Stiles of Oradell, NJ.


Deceased is a sister, Ellen Stiles.


Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, in the Behm Funeral Homes, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Dayton D. Mix officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. Obituary:


Katie L. (Wilt) Shipley, age 24, of East Sparta, OH, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, in the Cleveland Clinic, following a courageous battle with Lymphoma. She was born Sept. 9, 1993 in Canton to Robert E. and Kelly A. (Harsh) Wilt.


Katie was a 2011 graduate of Canton South High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Kent State Stark in 2014. She was employed by Aultman Hospital in the Labor and Deliver department, a career she truly enjoyed. Katie attended Sandy Valley Church of God.


She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Cecil Wilt and Paul Harsh; one aunt, Brenda Fazenbaker.


Katie is survived by her loving husband, Adam R. Shipley, to whom she was married two years; the joy of her life, her daughter, Kaelynn Shipley; her parents, Robert and Kelly Wilt; grandmothers, Norma Wilt and Carolyn Harsh; mother-in-law, Deborah Shipley; father-in-law, Russell Shipley; three brothers-in-law, Jeremiah (Shawnna) Shipley, Tim and Josh Shipley; and numerous extended family members and many dear friends.


Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 25 at 10 a.m. in the Sandy Valley Church of God with Pastor Clifford Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends and family will be received Friday 5-8 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and one hour before services on Saturday at the church (9-10 am).
