U.S. District Court Judge Charles H. Haden sentenced Sirk, 52, to serve three years in prison and to pay a $10,000 fine. In addition, it was ordered that Sirk must satisfy his tax liability to the Internal Revenue Service.


In meting out the prison term, Judge Haden told Sirk that "incarceration was given as a public deterrent and as punishment.


Sirk on Jan 23 was indicted by a grand jury meeting in elkins on a two count indictment charging tax evasion, as well as a multi-count indictment charging him and Charles Ronald Kimble with a stolen vehicle selling scheme


As part of Sirk's plea bargain agreement with the government, one count of income ta evasion and the other charges pending against him were nollied in return for his plea of guilty to the one count. He entered the plea on April 28.


The count of the indictment to which he plead guilty states that in 1978 Shirk evaded $13,663.07 in taxes, according to IRS spokesman Les Whitten.

SIRK, KENNIE LEE- Kennie Lee Sirk, age 89, of Daytona Beach, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 5th, 2018. He was born on May 24, 1928 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He was the oldest son of Clayton Rex and Blanche Sirk. In 1944 at age sixteen, he moved to Akron, Ohio where he learned the trade of Arc Welding for the McNeil Machine & Engineering Company. He proudly served in the National Honor Guard in Washington, D.C., under President Harry S. Truman during the Korean War. Kennie was the owner and operator of Clarksburg Automobile Company which was established in 1899. He was a Buick dealer, as well as owner and operator of several businesses during his lifetime. He enjoyed flying, and his first solo plane flight was in 1956. He served as President of the Bridgeport, West Virginia Rotary Club in 1970, and was awarded the high honor of Rotarian of the Year in 1972. In honor of his philanthropy, the Rotary Club distinguished him with the honor of receiving the Paul Harris Fellow Award. Kennie was inducted into The Nobles of the Mystic Shrine in Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1975, and on May 1, 1976 in Bridgeport, West Virginia, he became a member of the Royal Secret of the 32 Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. He moved to Daytona Beach in 1985, where he retired and enjoyed the Florida lifestyle. Kennie was an inspiration and example of a life well lived to the fullest. He lived by the principals of hard work, positive attitude and perseverance towards whatever he set his mind to do. Kennie shared his advice and guidance with others till his last days. Left behind to treasure him are: Carolyn Ann King Sirk (the love of his life), and his daughter, Michelle Lee (Sirk) Johnson. The funeral service is on Thursday, January 11th; the viewing will be from 1:30 to 2:00 pm, and the service will begin at 2:00 pm at High Point Pentecostal Church, 1495 Herbert St., Port Orange with Pastor Kenneth Sharp as officiating. His final resting place will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with Military Honors on Friday, January 12th at 1:00 pm.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Kennie L. Sirk, 89, or Daytona Beach, passed away January 5, 2018. Born May 24, 1928, in Clarksburg to the late C.R. (Rex) and Blanch Sirk.
He owned Clarksburg Automobile Company.
Survivors are three daughters, Kenna Jean Sirk, Alecia Ann Ford (Patrick) of Weirton, WV, and Michelle Johnson (Seth) of Daytona Beach, Fla.; brother Eugene of Clarksburg; and sisters Imogene Howell of Shinnston and Joan Sirk of San Mateo, Fla.


Preceded in death by brothers K. Lewis, John Sirk and sister Edith Ross.
Services were held at the High Point Pentecostal Church of Port Orange. Burial was January 12, 2018, at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

Mindi Jo Wilt Hollandsworth Pierce, 43, of Blackwell Street, Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Monday, December 27, 2010. She was born September 18, 1967, in Coco Solo, Panama, C.Z., a daughter of Richard and Joan Sirk Wilt, who survived in Bridgeport.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Chris Pierce, whom she married on May 21, 2005.


Also surviving are two sons, Troy and Tyler Hollandsworth, both at home; her brother, Eric Wilt, Clarksburg; three nephews, Johnathan, Joshua and Seth Wilt, Clarksburg; her mother and father-in-law, Benny and Karen Pierce, Clarksburg; two aunts, Barbara Rogers, Dola; and Kitty Counselor, Pittsburgh; Edith and Paul Ross, Leesburg, FL; Jean Sirk, Ocala,FL; Eddie and Imogene Duncan, Lumberport; Eugene and Judy Sirk, Clarksburg; Kenny Sirk, Daytona Beach, FL; Marie Sirk, Navarre, OH; and her former mother-in-law, Jean Hollandsworth, Clarksburg.

Mindi was a 1985 graduate of Bridgeport High School and received her nursing degree from Fairmont State. She had worked at UHC for over 10 years, including for Dr. Azar, Peoples’ Hospice, and as a surgical nurse in the operating room.

She was an active member of Horizon Church where she was a member of the Worship Team for many years. She was an eBay entrepreneur and Pampered Chef consultant. She also loved music, shopping, cooking, gardening, Facebook, and her dogs Leo and Deli.

She was a very giving person, who continued to give even after her death through CORE.


Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Thursday from 2-8 pm, where services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010, at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
