Morris's Obituary
Rev. Morris B. Davis, age 69, died July 16, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Marie Ayer Davis, one brother, D.O. Davis, foster brother, Robert (Bobby) J. Peterman, cousin, William Carlton Davis, guardian aunt and uncle, John and Fredrica Gooding. He retired July, 1999, from New Bethel Baptist Church, Valdosta, GA. In August 1999, he became pastor the second time of Riverside Baptist Church in Savannah, where he remained as pastor until his death. He celebrated 40 years in the ministry October, 1999, on the same day he was guest speaker for the 100th anniversary of First Baptist Church, Bluffton, SC, where he was ordained in 1963. He was licensed to preach in 1956 by First Baptist Church, Coosawhatchie, SC. He served as pastor of Corinth Baptist Church, Shawnee, interim pastor of Scotia Baptist, while serving as pastor of Corinth, pastor of Reedy Creek Baptist, Freeman, VA, Lakeside Baptist, Albany, First Baptist, Rochelle, Salem Baptist, Cochran. He served as Baptist Chaplain of Memorial Hospital from 1972-1977 while pastor of Riverside. He was a graduate of Ridgeland High School, Spartanburg Junior College, Toccoa Falls Bible College, and Southeastern Baptist seminary. Survivors: his wife, Rosalie Nutter Davis of Savannah; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul H. and Nancy Davis of Savannah; adopted daughter, Linda Richards and her husband, Robert; a brother and sister-in-law, John Frederick and Julia Gooding; cousins, Mary Elizabeth and Allan Parham and Mary Davis Boyles; grandchildren, Michael Rose Davis, Chris Edwards and Michelle, Susie Edwards Bower and Curt, Britt Edwards and Cadle; great-grandson, William Edwards; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral was held July 19 at Riverside Baptist Church with burial in Lebanon Methodist Church Cemetery, Scotia, SC. CARD OF THANKS The family wishes to thank each of you for your prayers, visits, cards, flowers and gifts. Cynthia Sue "Cindy" Rinker


SWANTON — Cynthia Sue “Cindy” (Friend) Rinker, 65, Swanton, passed away on Thursday,
May 3, 2018, at her home.
Born March 18, 1953, in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Bessie Friend.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy K. Rinker; a son-in-law, Brian D. Knox;
and a brother, Kenneth W. Friend.
Cindy retired after 33 years at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in the central services
department. She enjoyed crabbing and camping. Cindy loved her dogs, Oliver and Rusty, and
spending time with her grandchildren.



She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Richard B. Rinker; two daughters, Trisha L. Knox,
Mtn. Lake Park, and Jamie Beeman (and Kevin), Oakland; a son, R. Scott Rinker (and Dawn), Swanton;
nine grandchildren, Kayla Knox Spurling (and Tyler), Bryson Knox (and fiancée Hanna Popp),
Brianna Rinker Durst (and Cody), Trenton Rinker, Mariah Beeman, K.J. Beeman, Jeremy Martin,
Alaina Rinker, and Keira Rinker; one great- grandchild, Harper Knox, and two on the way; four
brothers, Martin Friend, William Sachs, August Knapp, and Garry Mayfield; one sister, Dawn Bowman.
Cindy donated her body to the Maryland Anatomy Board.
A celebration of her life will be held at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr.,
Oakland, in the reception hall on Sunday, May 20, from 1 to 4 p.m.
