Obituary:



James R. Edgell, 55, of Clarksburg, passed away Saturday (April 3, 2010) at his residence. Mr. Edgell was a meat cutter by trade and was last employed with Foodland in Parkersburg. He was born in Clarksburg on Aug. 25, 1954, a son of the late Theodore R. and Virginia M. McGary Edgell. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Catherine Harden Edgell; three sisters, Betty Lott and her husband Michael David of Parkersburg, Luella Wolford and John of Clarksburg, and Diane Skidmore and her husband Joe of Clarksburg; one brother, Rick Edgell and his wife Kim of Clarksburg; special aunt, Eva McGary of Stonewood; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Fred Harden of Morgantown, Sandra and Ed Rial of New Martinsville, Belinda and Cliff Nichols of Fairmont, Patricia and James Cottrill of Clarksburg, Karen Fox of South Carolina, and Ron Mayle of Clarksburg; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Edgell served with the National Guard and was a U.S. Navy veteran having received full disability. He was also a recent member of the Arlington Lions Club, the Stonewood VFD and was a big 49ers fan. Mr. Edgell enjoyed being with his family and friends. He loved his Lord, life, and fought very hard to stay with us, especially his wife, Catherine. Family and friends may call at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Olen Thomas Dr., Rt. 98, Clarksburg, from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. with Reverend Richard Settles officiating. — Diane Lynn Edgell Mayle Skidmore, 58 of Clarksburg, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 at Saint Francis Hospital, Charleston, WV.


She was born November 16, 1952 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Theodore and Virginia McGary Edgell. Diane was a homemaker and worked at Wendy’s for several years.



Surviving is her husband, Joseph Skidmore; three daughters, Regina Canaday and companion Howard Smith, Clarksburg, Dreama Matos and husband Jose, Aberdeen, MD, and Ranae Mayle, Clarksburg; one son, Ronald Mayle Jr and companion Jannettea Isabell, Stonewood; one stepdaughter, Connie Lackey and husband Jeff, Cheyenne Wyoming; twelve grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Luella Wolford, Clarksburg and Betty Lott, Parkersburg; one brother, Richard Edgell, Clarksburg and one sister-in-law, Cathy Edgell, Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Edgell; one granddaughter, Richella Diane Mayle.



She loved to crochet, watch Days of our lives, Elvis Presley’s # 1 fan, spending time with family and her three dogs, Nikki, Sammy, and Peanut.



Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Dr./Rt. 98, Clarksburg, from 2-8 p.m. Monday where services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Settles officiating.



Interment will follow in Stonewall Park Cemetery.
