Obituary:


SHINNSTON — Terry Dale Martin, 71, of Shinnston, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017,
at his home following an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 21, 1946, in Marion County, the son of the late Leonard Martin
and Audrey Eddy Martin Carpenter.
Terry worked for 21 year at the Spelter Zinc Plant until it closed in 2001 then
continued his education to become an electrician. He later retired form Tri-County
Electric as a Journeyman. He was a “Jack of all trades” and a master of none. He
enjoyed working and building anything he could with wood. He loved his cats and
enjoyed feeding and watching the hummingbirds and fishing.
Terry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley Ann (Craig) Martin; a son, Mark
Craig and companion Kim of Philippi; a daughter, Tracey (Martin) Mazzie and husband
Mark of Shinnston; six grandchildren, Mark Jr., Tisha, Rick and Logan Craig, Justin Hall
and Montana Mazzie; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Lena (Jeanie) Roberts and
companion Robert “Tuff” DuDash; and a brother, James Martin and wife Rose, all of Fairmont.
A special thank you to all the Hospice nurses for the wonderful care they gave Terry.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S.
Pike Street, Shinnston, WV, from 2-8 p.m. A second visitation and funeral services
will be held Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. time of service with Brian Plum
officiating. Interment will follow at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Clarksburg, WV.
Dorsey Funeral Home is honored to serve the Martin family.

It is with great sadness that the family of Velma June "Peggy" Stiles Coombs, age 84 of Braceville announces her passing after a lengthy battle with leukemia on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Signature Healthcare. Peggy was born June 4, 1933 in Morgantown, WV to the late Paul and Mary (McCardle) Stiles.
Peg was a 1980 graduate of Kent State University and worked as an administrative secretary for Hiram College, the Warren Tribune and was an executive secretary for the CEO of St. Joseph's Hospital before retiring in 1995. On numerous occasions, during her many years of employment she was voted for and earned the honor of Secretary of the Year. Peg attended Delightful Evangelical Church in Southington. She enjoyed collecting dolls, antiques and glassware. She loved to travel and going back to visit her family and friends in Morgantown.
Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Carl R. Coombs whom she married on July 4, 1950, her two sons; Carl Lynn Coombs and Brian Coombs both of Braceville, nieces; Brenda Stiles Reinhart, Sheila Stiles, Mary Stiles (David) Zimmerman and Debbie Knapton. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Albin and Ralph Stiles.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Peggy will then be taken home to Morgantown, WV where a graveside service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 pm at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. The family requests that contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Cancer Center, 667 Eastland Ave. SE, Warren, OH 44484.
