Eva Kisner


OAKLAND — Eva Mae (Moon) Kisner, 84, Oakland, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born March 8, 1934, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Genevieve Moon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Fray Kisner; three sons, Roger Kisner Sr., Ronald Kisner, and infant son Timothy Kisner; and one brother, Lester Moon.
Eva worked as a housekeeper for Oak-Mar Motel and Restaurant. She was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and playing cards.



She is survived by one son, Donald Kisner and wife Joyce, Oakland; two daughters, Wanda Smith and Janet Abner; one brother, James Moon and wife Linda, Oakland; 12 grandchildren, Doug Kisner, Roger Kisner Jr. and wife Christy, Pat Shaffer and husband Ken, Barb Robosson and husband Joe, Donna Friend and husband John, Zane Kisner, Bobby Kisner, Shirley Kisner, Becky Kisner, Peggy Kisner, Sissy Harvard and Tammy Bennett; numerous great-grandchildren; and best friends, Patty Ellis, Oakland and Sylvia Kuhn, Friendsville.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, on Friday, Jan. 4, from noon to 3:00 p.m.
A service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel following visitation at 3 p.m., with Roger Kisner Jr. and Pastor Russell Liller officiating. At Eva’s request, her body will be cremated.

James Moon
OAKLAND — James Robert Moon, 79, Oakland, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland.
Born Jan. 21, 1940, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Robert John and Genevieve (Lewis) Moon.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Trent; two great-grandsons, Ethan Slagle and Zack Reckart; a brother, Lester Moon; and a sister, Eva Mae Kisner.
Mr. Moon was a retired mechanic, having worked for Creigh Teets Auto Sales, Ralph Pritts Garage, Garrett Automotive and Manor Builders. He was a member of Terra Alta Assembly of God.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Jean (Holler) Moon; one son, Bernard Moon and wife Misty, Swanton; three daughters, Judy Lantz and husband Frank, Terra Alta, W.Va., Patsy Moats and husband Jr., Aurora, W.Va. and Jenny Smith and husband Paul, Cumberland; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
A service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 5, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. William Skipper and the Rev. Tom Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
