Frances Louise Hugill, known as Louise to all her friends, died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 2007, at White Oak Rehabilita-tion and Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon. She was 96. She was born November 3, 1910, at Pryor, Oklahoma to John A. A. Fink and Besse M. (Kendall) Fink. She graduated from Pittsburg, Kansas, State University and taught high school business classes for several years. She married Edmund Power Hugill on March 5, 1938, in Pittsburg, KS. and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1994. Louise was active in community organizations being a member of Central Christian Church since 1948; Honorary Regent of Joel Pace Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution; Kaskaskia Chapter, Daughters of 1812; Past Worthy High Priestess, Mt Vernon Shrine #71, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; Mount Vernon Chapter #233 Order of the Eastern Star; Jefferson County Genealogical Society; Jefferson County Historical Society; received a 30 year service pin from the American Red Cross; and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Louise is survived by her only child, Edmund Fink Hugill and wife Jeannie; two grandsons, Bradley Edmund Welles Hugill and Todd Joseph Welles Hugill, all of Wildwood, MO. In addition to her husband and parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brother: Signor John Lester Fink. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time at 2 p.m. Wednesday, in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with Mr. J. Howard Kraps officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the American Red Cross and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864. She was born on Sep 23, 1918 in Vergennes, IL the daughter of Harry & Lura (Levan) Crain.


She married John T. Hugill on March 26, 1940 in Union, MO. He deceased on July 31, 1987.


She was a Hospice Volunteer Caregiver for 22 years; member of the Order of the Eastern Star; Brownie Leader; Cub Scout Leader; Sunday School Teacher and Financial Secretary for many years at the First Baptist Church; socializing with the Delta Theta Tau Sorority, working with the Board of Elections for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacqulin K. Davis of Terre Haute, IN; son, Randy Hugill and wife Jeannette of New York, New York. grandchildren, Debbie Davis of Terre Haute, IN; Donnie Davis and wife Sophia of Terre Haute, IN; David Davis and wife Terra of Ramona, CA, Daniel Davis and wife Emily of Virginia Beach, VA; great grandchildren, Brittney, Andrew, Lucas, Taylor, Jolie, Wyatt, Jonah, Josh, Aidan, Eagan, step-daughter, Patti Goff, cousins, nieces, nephews and friend and loving caregiver Bonnie while in Olney.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother, Randell Crain, son-in-law, Donald Davis and great grandson, Cody Davis.
