     John Richard Pinion Sr.

NUTTER FORT — John Richard Pinion Sr., 84, of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly, on January 26, 2017, at his residence.


He was born in Clarksburg, on May 16, 1932, a son of the late Joseph Pinion and Pauline Goots Pinion.


He married his wife, Mary Theresa Pishner Pinion, on June 16, 1957, and they enjoyed 32 years of marriage before her death on April 13, 1989.


Mr. Pinion is survived by one son, John Richard Pinion, II and his wife Penny of Hillsborough, CA; two daughters, Cynthia Wiant and husband Gary of Stonewood, and Lisa Pinion of Quiet Dell; and three grandsons, John Christopher Wiant, John Thomas Pinion and Michael Joseph Pinion. He is also survived by one sister, Ada Trupo and husband Louis “Zeke” of Bridgeport; one brother-in-law, Joseph Pishner of Zanesville, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews.

John graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1950, and was a veteran in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Parsons Souders/Stone & Thomas with 42 years of service as the Display Manager. He was well-known for his creative Christmas mechanical displays in the windows at Parsons-Souders. He also retired from JCPenney after 13 years in their display department.

He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was a devoted father and grandfather who showed much pride and love in his family. His smile and kindness will forever be remembered by all who knew him. He loved family gatherings and traveling to his son John’s home in California.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Monday from 2-8 p.m. Catholic Funeral Rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. with Father Jude Anyaeche presiding. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

F. Ada (Pinion) Trupo


BRIDGEPORT — F. Ada (Pinion) Trupo of Bridgeport, 91, passed away Oct. 28, 2017, following a brief illness. She was born April 21, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph and Patsy Pinion of (Glen Elk) Clarksburg.
Ada was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Louis J. “Zeke” Trupo in April. Also preceded in death by an infant daughter; one sister, Julia Tenda; three brothers, Anthony (Tony) Pinion, William “Bill” Pinion and John Pinion, all of Clarksburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Jona (Trupo) Michel and husband Tom of Bridgeport; two sons, Dr. Joe Trupo and wife Debbie of Elkins, and Louis Trupo Jr. and wife Tammy of Columbus, OH; and a special daughter, Michelle Brady of Bridgeport. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Chris Trupo, Jaime (Trupo) Korn and husband Stephen, Heather (Trupo) Collier and husband Josh, Melissa (Michel) Rubi and husband Dr. Dionisio “Nicho” Rubi, Kristy (Michel) Marshall and husband Scott, and Lauren Trupo; nine great-grandchildren, Kirkland Pyles and wife Amanda, Autumn Trupo, Sofia Rubi, Stella Rubi, Lucia Rubi, Austin Marshall, Alexis Marshall, Luca Collier and Eva Collier; one brother-in-law, L. Joe Trupo of Bridgeport; sisters-in-law, Frances McConchie of Lewes, DE, and June Pinion of Clarksburg. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews she loved dearly.



Ada’s greatest joy was spending time with and feeding her family. She always had meatballs frozen for anyone who stopped in to visit. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel on cruises to Hawaii and to Italy to visit relatives. She never met a stranger and was a joy to everyone she met. Ada also loved to tell stories of growing up in Glen Elk and spending time in Cook’s Mine (Meadowbrook) with her grandparents. Sitting on the back porch feeding the birds and tending to her flowers were also favorite past times.
Ada graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1944 and worked for the Maidenform Co. in Clarksburg during and after WWII. In later years, she worked at W.T. Grant Co. and eventually went to work for the Harrison County BOE. She retired as a school cook from Johnson Elementary School in Bridgeport. Ada enjoyed being a poll worker for many elections.
Ada was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church for more than 62 years. She was also active with All Saints School during her children’s years.

Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Bridgeport, WV Thursday from noon-8 p.m. The Vigil Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 E. Main St., Bridgeport, WV Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father Benedict Kapa and Reverend Father Hilarion V. Cann presiding. The interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
