SHINNSTON — Helen G Shanholtz, 93, of Oakdale, passed away December 10, 2016, at United Hospital Center.
She was born June 26, 1923, in Harrison County, daughter of the late Carl and Ruby Pigott Moore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E Shanholtz, whom she married on August 16, 1941, and a daughter, Elizabeth Amos.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Griffin and her husband Okey, Bridgeport, Marsha Allen and husband Charles, Bridgeport, Keith Shanholtz and wife Marsha of Oakdale, Cynthia Tassone and husband Sam, Shinnston; son- in-law, Gary Amos, Bridgeport; twelve grandchildren, Kathryn Hodgson and husband Ron, Bridgeport;,Michael Griffin and wife Julie, Grafton, Mark Allen and wife Diana, Monongah, Wendy Cotrill and husband Mark, Bridgeport; Doug Shanholtz and fiancé Lisa, Shinnston, Kristi Shanholtz, Shinnston, Beth Ann Gregory, Shinnston, Heather Dorsey and Dave, Shinnston, Jennifer Snyder and husband Chris, Bridgeport, Leigh Ann Holt and husband Ryan, Lumberport, Lora Spagnoli and Mario, Bridgeport, Kelly Amos and Robert Bell, Enterprise; 25 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in- law, Debbie Nutter and husband Marvin, Uniontown, OH, and Jo Moore, Shinnston.
In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, she was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Moore, and one sister, Dorothy Fortney. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She attended Charity Baptist Church in Oakdale.
