Billy Joe Stiles, 82, of Katy Road, Fairmont, died Sunday (Sept. 27, 2015) at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1933, in Fairview, a son of the late William Henry Stiles and Nila Alice Mitchell Stiles.
Mr. Stiles was a district foreman for the Mannington District of Carnegie Natural Gas Company.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Haught Chapel United Methodist Church in Fairview.
Surviving are his wife, Ann K. Fordyce Stiles; two sons and their spouses, Matthew Stiles and Amy Yoke of Mannington, and Mark Stiles and his wife Kathy of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one daughter and her spouse, Marcia Denece Batson and her husband Paul of McCurdysville; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Sypolt and her husband Dana of Blacksville; eight grandchildren, Philip Stiles, Ryan Stiles, Sean Stiles, Spenser Stiles, Samuel Stiles, Forrest Stiles, Hunter Ann Batson and her fiance Charles “Chuck” Cunningham, and Autumn Batson, and two others that Bill considered to be his grandchildren, Lilyan Yoke and Josephine Yoke; and two great-grandchildren, Darius Stiles and Remington Cunningham.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wright and Bonnie Stiles; and one brother, George Stiles.
Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. today at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, and from 11 a.m. to the 1 p.m. service hour Wednesday at the Haught Chapel United Methodist Church in Fairview. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Randy Vincent officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
