Randall M. Wilt


Age 81, of Bolivar, formerly North Canton, passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2011, in his home. He was born in Swanton, MD, a son of the late Howard and Catherine (Fitzwater) Wilt, and had been a resident of the Canton area since 1945. Randy was proud to have received his GED at the age of 79. He retired in 1988 as the owner of Randy’s Auto Service, which he operated 33 years. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary and the Stark County Power Squadron. Randy was a pilot and was a former member of the Quiet Birds. Preceded in death by his son, Randall D. Wilt, on March 13, 2011, and a brother, George Wilt. Survived by his wife, Roberta “Birdie” (Widder) Wilt; one daughter and son-in-law, Roxane and William Swanger, of North Canton; a granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Sasha (Jason) Anderson and their daughter, Kendall, of North Canton; step-children Bruce (Sue) Scott, of New Philadelphia, and Frances (Tim) Oliver, of Midvale; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, Nikki, Crystal, Dillon, Courtney, Tori, Kristen, Tessa, and Jessica (Jeff) Heap, and their sons, Jonathan and Garret; one sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Jim Knox, and one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Judy Wilt, all of Oakland, MD.

Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Holmes officiating. Interment in Fort Laurens Cemetery in Bolivar. Friends may call Thursday 5-8 p.m. and Friday 10-11 a.m. before the service. Contributions in Randy’s memory may be made to Community Hospice, 201 W. Third St., Dover, OH 44622.

Shirley Mae Harris

Shirley Mae Harris, 87, of Kingwood died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Kingwood with family by her side.


She was born May 2, 1928, in Tunnelton, a daughter of the late Henry and Nevada Jane Taylor Owens. Shirley’s mother died when she was 11 months old and was raised by her grandparents, Anthony and Mary Bolyard.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cook and homemaker. She worked at Mamie’s and Mary’s restaurants and for Camp Dawson. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 2345 in Tunnelton, the Homemakers, Senior Center and the Historical Society, all of Tunnelton. She was a past member of Tunnelton Town Council and Ambulance Service.

She is survived by her three sons, Lloyd and wife, Melodye and Roger and wife, Cheryl all of Tunnelton and Larry and wife, Dona of Albright; two daughters, Loretta Milks and husband, Dale of Gowanda, NY and Roxanna Stiles and husband, Curtis of Kingwood; four brothers, James Owens of Tunnelton, Randell and Thomas Owens, both of Thornton and Leo Owens of Kingwood; two sisters, Naomi Pifer of Kingwood and Norma Jean Buseman of Morgantown; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren,

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Harris, her step-mother, Levada Bolyard Owens, five brothers, Howard, Calvin, Glenn, Frederick and Daniel Owens and three sisters, Blondell Owens, Mary Bolyard and Marguerite Shaver.

Family and friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood on Tuesday, March 8, from 2-8 pm and on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 10 am till 11 am the funeral hour with Cheryl and Roger Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to the Tunnelton Senior Citizens, 1266 Senior Drive, Tunnelton, WV 2444.

Shirley Mae Harris, 87, of Kingwood died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Kingwood with family by her side.
