John R. Lemley, 89, of Waynesburg, PA, died at 1:30 AM Tuesday, July 02, 2013, at home. He was born Monday, July 30, 1923 in Burton,WV. A son of the late Edward Lemley and Ada Stiles Lemley. Mr. Lemley was a member of the Washington St. United Methodist Church. He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army during W.W.II. He was a Life Member of the James Farrell American Legion Post #330 and the V.F. W. Post #4793 both of Waynesburg. He had been a member of the Waynesburg Moose Lodge #461 since 1974 where he had held several offices over the years. He was also a member of the Mt. Morris Sportsmans Club. He enjoyed all sports and especially enjoyed playing golf, playing musical instruments and hunting. He was also a handyman able to fix about anything. He worked for 37 years for Columbia Gas retiring in 1988 as a Well Tender. He is survived by his Wife: Margie Taylor Lemley, whom he married on June 05, 1949. Also surviving are 1 Daughter: Charlotte (Larry) Rose, of Mount Morris, PA. 1 Son: Steven C.(Toni) Lemley, of Waynesburg, PA. 1 GrandSon: Brian Rose 1 Sister: Audrey Lavelle, of Littleton, WV. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are 1 Son: John Edward Lemley who died in infancy. 2 Sisters: Geraldine Tucker and Elma Riffle 1 Brother: Stanley Lemley Friends will be received from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 05, 2013 in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH,Inc.
