MARY E. McCLURE


Mary E. McClure, 94, of Wana, died Friday, March 1, 2013 in the Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown.


She was born June 23, 1918 at Wana, a daughter of the late Isaac Stiles and Creasie Cross Stiles.


Mrs. McClure was a homemaker.


Mary was a member of the Wana United Methodist Church and the Golden Glow Rebekah Lodge No. 299 of Wadestown.


Surviving are three sons and their spouses, John and Janice McClure of Miracle Run; Carl McClure of Mannington, and Harold McClure of Wana; one daughter and her spouse, Sue and Jack Wilson of Wana; seven grandchildren, Janette McClure, Jeff McClure, Jason McClure, Robert Wilson, Bobby McClure, Melissa Ruckle, and James McClure; and six great-grandchildren.


Mrs. McClure was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert E. McClure, who died November 17, 1971; one brother, James Hendershot; and one sister, Mildred Thornton.


Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-9 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with Pastor Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.

Carl Allen McClure, 71, of Farmington, passed away at the Fairmont Regional Medical Center on Monday (Aug. 21, 2017).
He was born Dec. 31, 1945, in Wana, a son of the late Robert Edmond McClure and Mary E. Stiles McClure.
Carl was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School. He was employed by Consolidated Coal Co. Blacksville No. 2 Mine, having retired after 25 years and was also a member of the UMWA .
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Ruckle and husband Craig of Fairview; a son, James McClure of Farmington; three grandchildren, Daniel and Kenna McClure and Laila Ruckle; two brothers, John McClure and wife Janice of Beulah and Harold McClure of Wana; one sister, Sue Wilson and husband Jack of Wadestown; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation or services. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington.
The family would like to thank Harold and Alta Efaw for their friendship and kindness through the years.

Mrs. Virginia Carolyn Robinson Chittum, widow of Newton F. Chittum, died at her home on Kerrs Creek Friday November 17, 1950 after a lingering illness. She was born in Rockbridge County, January 28, 1870, a daughter of the late John Henry Robinson and Rhoda Wilhelm, both of Rockbridge.


She lived her entire life in Rockbridge and was a member of the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church.



Funeral services were conducted from the Collierstown Presbyterian Church, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with interment in Collierstown Cemetery.



Surviving are the following step-children: Mrs. Enis Reynolds, OH; Mrs. A. W. Cash, Richmond, Mrs. Ivy Muterspaugh, Emmett Chittum, C. B. Chittum and Kenneth


Chittum all of Lexington; and Russell Chittum of Clifton Forge, one sister, Mrs. Augusta Robinson and one brother, Emmett Robinson, both of Lexington.
