In the 1810 US Census of Monogalia Couty, VA William is listed with 9 individuals  .William buried request under an apple tree over looking his farm.At present that part of the farm is completely covered by waste known as gobb
produced by a coal mine that is on the Stiles property near Wana, WV. The mine is owned and operated by Consolidated Coal (CONCO) Company. William Stiles was born about 1768/1770. He married Sarah A. (Nancy) Morris.
Sarah was the daughter of Robert Morris who owned “Liberty Hall” adjoining Stephen Stiles, in a suit over “Liberty Hall” Nancy Morris is mentioned as wife of William Stiles. They removed to Monongalia County and settled in the vicinity of Wana, where he acquired the land mentioned in the deed of Stephen Stiles. William is again listed in the Virginia Census of 1850 as living in Monongalia County at the age of 80 with six dependents ranging from 4 months to 24 years of age. These are probably grandchildren. He remained on the Homestead until his death, probably in 1852 as his will was probated May 24, 1852 (Monongalia Co. WV Will Book 1, p. 240.) At his request he was
buried in a large apple orchard on the farm sold and will to him by his father, Stephen Stiles. The grave is directly up on the hill from the old Stiles cemetery where William’s wife was the first
person buried over one hundred years ago, (information this grave was furnished by Mr. Wm. L. Stiles, Moundsville, West Virginia, a descendant of William. A check of the area in 1987shows no presents of the grave which was only marked at death by a filed stone. The Stiles cemetery close by is very well groomed and is enclosed in a high white fence. The property now is occupied by a coal mine belonging to the Consolidation Coal Co. Will of William Stiles.In the name of God Amen, I William Stiles of the County of Monongalia State of Virginia in a languishing State of health but sound in memory and understanding thanks be to Almighty God for the same do make and constitute this my last will and testament. Item I will and bequest to my three sons viz: Stephen, Thomas, and Benjamin the tract of land on which now reside being about three hundred and eighty acres to be divided between them as follows: (to wit) My son Stephen to have for his share one hundred and twenty six acres off the lower and including his present residence and to be bounded as follows – Beginning at a white oak and hickory corner to John W. Wiley thence with said Wiley’s line up the creek S 28 (degrees) W to the point where Wiley’s line crosses the creek
at the bend thence to have the original line and to follow the meanders of Drunkard Creek to the line above the ford thence to leave the Creek and to run a straight line out side of and by the sheep field fence to the upper and of said fence there to corner thence to strike a straight line to the Bradford
line so as to make the number arcs required then to follow the out line to the beginning. The balance (of my above described tract of land containing about 280 acres) to be equally divided between my sons Thomas and Benjamin. 2nd I will and bequeath to my grand son John Randolph
a tract of two hundred acres of land in the County of Delaware and State of Ohio it being the same land which his father Marshfits Randolph now lives on. 3rd it is my will that all my personal property
be sold at public venue soon after my decease to proceeds of which sale together with all deeds and demands that may be forthcoming to me and all the deeds and demands that may be possessed of at my decease, I bequeath equally to my three sons : Stephen, Thomas and Benjamin equally to my require them to pay the children of my daughter Cassandra Randolph the sum of four hundred dollars giving each heir as he or she shall as he or she shall come of age then proportionate share of said sum, 4th I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Bland one dollar to be paid her out of any money
that may be in the hands of executer. 5th I give and bequeath to my son John Stiles one dollar to be paid him out of any money that may be in the hands of my executor. 6th I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Cross one dollar to be paid her out of any money that may be in the hands of executor; 7th I hereby nominate and appoint my son Thomas Stiles my executor of this will and testament.
I publish and declare this and none other to be my last will and testament in testimony where off I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of Feb’y 1850.

At a court held in and for the county of Monongalia at the Court House of said County on the 24th day of May 1852, a paper writing purporting to the last will and testament of William Stiles was this day produced to the court duly proven by the oath and examination of Azariah Harker, Isaac Wise, and
William H.Doty subscribing witnesses thereto and admitted to record.
