Robert Ray "Bob" Tetrick, 75, of Middletown, Virginia died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Tetrick was born December 24, 1931 in Monongah, West Virginia, the son of Lemuel and Nellie Salabore Tetrick.
After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and was sent the the Korean Conflict where he was wounded in combat. He returned home and attended Fairmont State College. He then enlisted in the Navy and served as a Black Beret in Vietnam where he also was wounded in combat. In total, he served 20 years in the military, received 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
He married Joan Lee Tetrick on September 11, 1999 in Middletown, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Rev. Robert Tetrick of Addison, IL; two daughters, Gale Sickle of Zionsville, IN and Kimberly Pospischil of Shanahan, IL; two step-daughters, Patricia Dillaman of Middletown, VA and Pamela Dillaman of Middletown, VA; a step-son, Jeffrey Dillaman of Poquoson, VA; a brother, Roger Tetrick of Ormond Beach, FL; a sister, Patricia Herold of Paducah, KY; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one step-grandson.
A brother, Larry Tetrick is deceased.
A private family service will be held at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel in Stephens City with Rev. Robert Tetrick officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Enterprise, WV.
