THEODORE GATES COUNCILOR "Father Bear" Age 81, of Jupiter, FL, passed away on August 6, 2012 with his loving companion, Kitty, by his side. Ted was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years Barbara Councilor. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1952 and later joined the US Marine Corps. He spent several years in public accounting before joining the family business, Black Millwork. He was president of the company for over 40 years and was a well-respected and highly recognized leader of the lumber and millwork industries. Ted was an avid golfer and long standing member of the Pine Valley Golf Club and the Arcola Country Club. He was a great family man, a classic Virgo, loved very old music, a good libation and truly had a wonderful life. Beloved father of Robb, David, Missy and Gates. Adored grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A Christian Service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Guardian Angel RC Church in Allendale, NJ. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
