DONALD EDWIN RABER
Donald Edwin Raber, "Pappy Ab", 77, of Crossroads, WV died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his residence.
He was born January 14, 1937 in Waynesburg, PA, a son of the late Don and Dorothy Wise Raber.
Mr. Raber worked for Hope Gas Company for 29 1/2 years before retiring for health issues.
He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their many activities. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and the WVU Mountaineers. He was a loving father and grandfather who was very proud of his family.
Surviving are his beloved daughter, Lisa Raber Ammons, her husband, Rojack Ammons, and his cherished grandchildren, Abbey and Chase Ammons of Crossroads; his brother, John Raber and his wife Betty of Wooster, OH; and his sister, Nancy Kiger of North Carolina. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends that loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Stiles Raber who died August 12, 1994; an infant daughter, Donna Ruth Raber; a sister Sara Leyman; and a brother, Robert Raber.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 6-8 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with Evangelist Dick Bartrug officiating. Interment will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.
