James Leroy "Sonny" Jones, 76 of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away on June 25, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.



He was born May 22, 1938, in Springfield, Ill., a son of the late Herman S. and Sylvia E. Lattimer Jones.



Sonny was a retired truck driver working for many companies over the years. He was a member of Mineral Wells Baptist Church.



He is survived by his wife, Delia Stiles Jones; four daughters, Sherri Jones of Parkersburg, W.Va.; Brenda Smarr and husband Bert of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Ginger Wyatt of Vinton, Va. and Tracey Johnson of Reedsville, Ohio; two sons, Gerald Jones and James McCase, both of Mineral Wells; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lucinda Esther Jones; two sisters, Vera Anthony and Stella Thompson; and one brother, Hollie Jones.



Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Brian Arthur officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Mineral Wells, W.Va. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
