Barry Wayne Hollandsworth, 74, of Fairview, passed away on August 11, 2017 in his home after a short battle with esophagus cancer. He was born December 28, 1942 to the late Dale and Bertha Hollandsworth of Barrackville. He attended school in Barrackville. Barry was a hardworking coal miner until he retired from Loveridge Coal Mine. He enjoyed spending time with his family and camping at Spruce Knob in his earlier years and more recently, Big Bear Lake, where he owned a campsite. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Marlene Hollandsworth; a daughter Shelli Hollandsworth Nielson and her husband Charles of Barrackville; a son, Jason Hollandsworth and his wife Christina of Canonsburg; 5 grandchildren, Lane Byard, and Abby, Ayden, Aaron, and Addilyn Hollandsworth; and 2 step-grandchildren, Megan and Bethany Nielson. In addition, he is survived by 2 brothers, Robert Hollandsworth and his wife Linda of Barrackville; and Eugene Hollandsworth of Texas, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Charles and Francelia Towles, a brother, Marvin Hollandsworth, and a sister-in-law, Linda Davis. Mr. Hollandsworth's Family will receive friends at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm for a memorial service. NUTTER FORT — Lena “Janie” Wilt, 86, of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the United Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born in Weston, WV, on November 1, 1927, a daughter of the late Ammon G. and Alma L. Lough Butcher.
Janie was preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Cottrill, second husband, Hubert G. Duncan, third husband, Porter M. Rogers and fourth husband, Jack K. Wilt.
Surviving Mrs. Wilt are two daughters, Alma Sue Rowe and her husband Bacel and Martha DeBarr and her husband Gary both of Lost Creek; one grandson, Brian L. Rowe and his wife Allison; two granddaughters, Leah M. Godwin and her husband Ron and Kasi R. Myers and her husband Russ and two great-granddaughters, Alaina M. Godwin and Halee K. Rowe.
Also surviving are three stepsons, David Wilt of Calhoun, LA, Mark Wilt and his wife Karin of Lost Creek and Greg Wilt and his wife Leisa of McWhorter; five step-grandchildren and seventeen step great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers, Ammon G. Butcher and his wife Ruby of Brandywine, WV, and Clare N. Butcher and his wife Patty of Fairview Park, Ohio, as well as several nieces, nephews and former stepdaughter-in-law, Darlene Wilt.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Wilt was preceded in death by eight sisters, three brothers, one grandson, one granddaughter and one step-granddaughter.
She was a member of the Oak Mound Evangelical Congregational Church in Clarksburg, the Lost Creek Friendly Neighbors CEOS, Lost Creek Senior Citizens and attended the Lost Creek United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed cooking, making ceramics, staying in touch with friends and family through sending many cards.
Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Karen Brown presiding.
Interment will follow in the Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery.
